Reverend Milton R. Blount is a native of South Norfolk County, Virginia. He received his early education in the Portsmouth Public Schools. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Virginia.

Reverend Blount served as Pastor of Poplar Lawn Baptist Church in Surry County from 1987-1992. There he led the church in the completion of its sanctuary. On January 31, 1993, he was installed as the fourth Pastor of the New Mount Olivet Baptist Church. The Lord has blessed and anointed his ministry.

Reverend Blount’s affiliations include: The Progressive National Baptist Convention, Hampton Ministers Conference, President of Tidewater Metro Baptist Ministers Conference, Sharon Missionary Baptist Association, President of Church and Community in Action, Treasurer of the Virginia Baptist State Convention, and Chairman of the Victory Square Corporation in the city of Portsmouth. He is also a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Baptist Children’s Home.

Reverend Blount is married to the former Claudette McWilliams of Richmond, Virginia and they have one daughter, Crystal Denise Blount.

Reverend Blount is sustained by: 1 Corinthians 2:9 which declares that, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
